Let the Construction Begin!

We’ve been
praying and planning. We’ve been
searching for a “constructor”, reviewing and working on contracts. You’ve been praying and giving. You’ve been doing fundraisers. We can’t thank you enough, but THANK YOU!!!
Our Board of
Directors in the USA and the Board of Directors in Kenya have decided that we
need to start construction on the Child Arise Feeding Center! I believe that by the time you read this, we
will have already started. Wow God! (Watch our facebook page for exciting
pictures.)
God says,
“If you had faith like a grain of mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry
tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.” Really God?
It must be true, because it’s written right there in Luke 17:6. I’m a planner. I’m a perfectionist. I like to have all my ducks in a row...I, I,
I. I don’t like to admit it, buy my faith
is as small as a mustard seed, but God says that’s all I need.
There are so
many things to be considered in Kenya that are quite different from our United
States. We are still short an estimated
$50,000 to complete our building, but together with the Lord, we have come so
far!
In Kenya,
they are accustom to starting a building without having the funds available to
complete it. We are not. We don’t have the needed funds, but our
donations are coming in slower than the costs of the building are rising. It seems wise and prudent to begin
construction now, so that we can get the biggest benefit for every dollar.
There, they
have to consider the cost of driving to the river to collect water needed for
concrete and other construction needs and whether or not the closest rivers or
streams will be dried up. Elizabeth has
been and will be, catching rain water from her roof to help with that
cost. This is water normally used for
her own personal needs. She is trusting
the Lord to provide for her own water use.
We cannot
use the water from the borehole. That’s
drinking water only and is much too precious to be used for construction.
Maybe our
Feeding Center should be called our Spiritual Growth Center. The meal is only part of what happens when
all our children or all our women gather.
They share a meal, but more importantly, they feed on the Word of God. They teach, study and read from the Bible and
spend time in prayer. It’s during this
time that they are encouraged, grow in their faith or come to a saving
knowledge of our Lord.
Keeping our
kids in school and our feeding programs going is so important, so we don’t want
that interrupted. However, we also hope
and pray that we can complete this building without any workflow stoppage in
the construction.
Please
prayerfully consider if and how God wants you to be a continued part of this
building preparation. Once again, thank
you so very much for your part in this!
How Much Do You Love Your
Child?

Elisha, the profit of the
Lord, met up with a widowed woman who was facing such hardships that creditors
were coming to enslave her children. She cried out to him for help.
She had nothing in her house but a small amount of oil.
Read about how the Lord provided for her needs through Elisha by miraculously
giving her so much oil, she was able to pay her debts and meet the needs of her
and her children! 2 Kings 4:1-7. What an awesome God we serve!
Think of how much you love your children. How they mean so much to you
and how much you want to meet their every need and do what's best and right for
them.
Now imagine if you have little means; low income, few opportunities, you
literally don't know if you will be able to feed them 2 meals tomorrow.
Your friends, family and neighbors are all just getting by, like you are.
What if the spouse of your dreams dies? How heartbroken would you
be? How sad would your kids feel? How will you take care of them
when it was so hard to provide when you and your beloved were working together?
Next it's you. You die and your kids are left alone. They are in
bitter distress. Your friends, family and neighbors are still struggling
to make ends meet for their own household. What if they pity your children,
but just don't see how they can take them in? How can they have more
mouths to feed when they're barely providing for their own children?
Can you
imagine how you would feel if you knew someone did just that? Took your children
in, fed them and gave them a roof over their heads? What if that person
became a widow herself? What if she couldn't give them 2 meals every day and
send them to school? Even worse, what if she didn't know Jesus or what if she
was so overwhelmed and depressed, she couldn't feel His presence?
Like God used Elisha to bring hope and provisions to the widowed woman in the
Bible, God can use YOU to meet the needs of the poorest widowed women in Mbooni
Kenya. You can help someone who has taken in the children of another, when
others would not, to feed and educate them. Through Elizabeth Mativo, you can
teach them about the Lord, give them hope and help them to feel His love.
You can be Elisha in someone's life.
PRAYER REQUESTS
One
of our newest high school graduates is in training to be an airplane
hostess. Currently, she has to take
swimming classes and next she must learn French. She hopes to finish in 2 years. The other new graduate is now taking computer
classes to prepare for college and hopes to become an engineer. Thank you for supporting them and please
continue to pray they will do well, so that they can get a job to provide for
their needs.

for food are going way high very fast.
May God have mercy to help us.
Elections
are coming in August. The campaign is
causing killings already. People are
fearing. We need peace.
